I just got a box that says: New Speer GoldDot Short Barrel
9mm Luger+p 124 GR. GDHP,short barrel Hollow Points .. Short Barrel ?????
I can see No difference in over alll length from my other 9mm shells. It has a Large hollow point whole. This is the First box of GoldDots[9mm ] I've found around my area. Has anyone tried these out? It will be a week before I can try these in my Sr9 . Any advise? Thanks ...

The length (OAL) on 9mm shouldn't vary much, that would be bad. Speer's "short barrel" is "optimised" to work as well as the standard would in a longer barrel.

I don't take that much into account as most of the higher end SD hollow points grade well in ballistic testing, in most barrel lengths with semi-autos. As long as this stuff doesn't cost and arm and a leg more than other ammo, I would think you should be fine with it.

$21.00 for box of 20

Almost a dollar/round...not exactly range ammo...worth it if it can help save your life in a SD situation.
