SP 101 or Kimber K6

Help Support Ruger Forum:

For many years, I carried a Speed Six 357 stainless concealed while working retail sales---what a chunk (heavy) of revolver, but totally reliable and shot well---I trusted it. For a while I had a stainless SP101 in 9mm---liked it a lot, but it got discontinued and a shooting buddy offered a lot more then I could refuse (he still has it), and of course, it's back in production again...
But I'm passed the small revolver thing now, If I need a concealed gun, I'll just carry my HK P2000 9mm DA/SA or my HK P2000SK 9mm "light" LEM pistols---10+1 or 13+1 9mm Gold Dot 124 JHPs---flatter and more comfortable to carry...
But never say never...

I do not own either gun. I have considered buying one or the other a couple times now. My problem with the 101 is that I simply cannot cock it with only one hand. That bothers me enough that I would spring the extra for the much smoother Kimber

I bought my wife an early SP101, she had it briefly, we both shot it and were underwhelmed, plus it's just so heavy! I would say as much for at least handling the K6S, another compact but heavy revolver. I have a M&P 340 in 357 and have had a LCR 2" and 3" (I liked the 2" better) in 357. Those would be my first and second choices. The 340 does have Pachmayr Compacs on it, they cover the backstrap and don't add as much bulk as you might think, not for their control value. Also have a Colt Agent, just because. I would like to try a Kimber K6XS.
