SP-101 9mm moon clips

My new (to me) 9mm SP-101 is a fine pistol. I think it is of recent manufacture. They come with 3 moon clips. Unfortunately, Ruger sells additional moon clips for them at 3 for $15! :?

I have tried moon clips for the Ruger 9mm LCR. They do not fit -- they are a bit smaller than the SP-101 moon clips. Will the moon clips from the old SP-101 9mm pistols work?

Does anyone have a non-Ruger source for them? Ranch Products doesn't have them available yet. And how can I tell if it is new manufacture or old? Serial number is 676-747xx

Not sure. I own a Speed-Six in 9mm,, and a LCR in 9mm. I haven't tried to see if anything will interchange. My Speed-Six uses 1/2 moons,, and I seem to recall nobody makes any full moons for that one. I'll have to check my guns a but.

I have a 9mm SP101 made in 1996. I have read on this and other forums that the older moon clips intended for the original 9mm SP101s will not function properly in the newer models.
