HATE to think what it cost coming from Cabela's though. They're CRAZY on thie prices 99% of the time.

Having the matching box, sleeve,, AND the shipper with a gun in that condition is what we call "icing on the cake!" VERY nice!

So if I have a SBH with a higher SN and it has an older style box, would that indicate that it originally was a white box and somebody purchased the box seperately?

It all depends on your ship date. Super Blackhawks shipped up to April 1961 were shipped in mahogany cases. There may have been a few stragglers after that as well. The white case was used from April 1961 but then a flood destroyed most of those so Ruger began using a two piece telescoping box by at least June 1962. Seems however that a last final run of white cases was used up in October 1962.
