Up for sale is a like new Ruger Mini-14 Ranch rifle. I took this fine rifle in on a trade. The owner stated he never fired it. From my inspection i have no reason to doubt him. It chambered in 223 Remington, with a hardwood stock, 18.5" barrel with one 5 round and one 10 round factory magazine. There is a very small scuff on the right side of the stock. I should list this a New Old Stock but since I don't have the box or manual I'm listing it as used, save huge over new $599 plus $45 shipping to your FFL. Serial is 582-30xxx

That's not the prefix. The prefix is the 3 digit number in front of the dash which separates it from the serial number itself.

Good catch, In my haste I looked in my log book and posted the prefix for a 10/22 The correct prefix is 582. No lie, my bifocals are coming in next week. I edited to post with the correct prefix.
