ConcealED carry. Which is correct.

I thought the egregious misspelling of bullets was from a specific forum to denote home cast bullets?

As far as going pew and pow or bang. My finger gun made all those noises when I was a youngster. It is very difficult to make a real gun noise with your mouth.

As far as EDC it bothers me some think it can change every day. As in what is your EDC today? By my definition to be an EDC it has to be carried every day.

Or does it really mean you carry something everyday? 🤷‍♂️ IDK

It's not just gun jargon, society is deteriorating

Argh! You quoted me before my edit. I meant egregious not grievous. Lol. 😂

It's not "boollets" used on one forum that has bled over, it's "boolits" which is stupid regardless of where they were made. The other stuff is new to me but is also stupid other than EDC...which is generic as it can refer to knives, etc.

Tangent here but to me cast bullets should infer home cast. Buying cast bullets makes little sense as the main point in loading cast bullets is being sufficient by casting them too. Oh well. To each his own. I only learned to reload (and cast) to rely less on others. Still need to learn to make primers and powder I guess.

Netspeak has taken over too. I am a "Huntin' pecker typist" so I get new abbreviations for long terms like IIRC for "if I remember correctly" or IDK for "I don't know" and mistakes like teh for THE, but deliberate misspellings or completely incorrect usage that can easily be looked up is sad to see.

I worked with a "kid" who sat nearby and he was always asking me how to spell words. After a while I told him to look it up, when he crabbed that using me was easier I told him that looking it up trained his mind to remember the correct spelling of the common words he regularly asked me to spell for him.

Well, I am one who frequently changes what I carry. I have been chastised for this over the years. But to date I haven't had any problems.

In reality my only EDC is my little NAA .22 mag Mini. It's the only one that's carried almost every day, regardless of what else I have with me.

Bob has a point in how some gun terminology has deteriorated.

I was told long ago that the use of the spelling "boolits" was to offset the internet filters that would block computers from anything gun related. So that people COULD see the site,, because boolits wasn't entered into their "bad words" like bullets is.

The use of "pew, pew, pew" was most often attributed to how some ladies described gunfire. When a guy uses that term,,,,,,,???

"PPP" was a term coined by John Taffin for the mainstream gun folks. It came from his use of "Perfect Packing Pistol" as he often gave that designation to a gun he was reviewing. Maybe others used that term,, but John was the one who made it mainstream.

Acronyms have been a part of all language for centuries. The military has a LOT of them. Texting has put a lot more into the mainstream use. And I admit to not knowing many of those myself.
But it used to be that when people would write something,, and used an acronym,, they would either spell out the meaning first,, then use the acronym after that. And sometimes put the acronym right after the full wording such as; "Perfect Packing Pistol, (PPP). Nowadays,, I see a lot of acronyms w/o any explanation of what it means.

Punctuation! I miss it! Especially the lack of same, from people accustomed to texting almost exclusively. You get one very long, run-on sentence that jumps from subject to subject, and frequently makes little sense. And, I also still enter two spaces after a sentence ends!!

PPP is an initialism. Acronyms are pronounced, examples are terms like RADAR or SCUBA.

A semantic difference but this thread is about semantics.

BTW, there's an AR-15 lower that has markings for the selector of "pew" and "no pew." I need to get one of those.

So long as I can interpret what the individual is speaking of they can say whatever they wish, including 'bad English, and rotten sentence structure. I still attempt to properly spell what I am speaking of.
Yes, but...
How someone speaks or writes is akin to how someone dresses. It serves as a reflection of who they are and we can all pretty much tolerate those differences in people. However, it also prompts (usually silent) judgment in listeners/readers. Again, just like clothes do. It is so automatic in people that I'm tempted to say it is human nature.
