Went in to pick up a transfer this afternoon, and this is what I drove up to...

Lowlife D-bag's stole a car down in Indy, and attempted to ram their way inside the shop. Thankfully, they weren't successful...But sure done a lot of damage to the storefront. 😡

Not in Indiana. If and when they're apprehended, they'll be punished accordingly. The Police know who's responsible, I've been told.

Several years ago, one of the best gun stores (Collectors Firearms) in Houston got word that they might be robbed. Several other stores had been. So, one of the owners decided to spend the night in the store. Sure, enough the Thugs removed enough of the cinder blocks at the rear of the store to get in. Wrong thing to do Jerry took both out with a 12 gauge once they got in the store.

They must be taking lessons from our So. Calif. 'friends'.....this was just this summer:
Federal authorities have charged six men in connection with a string of burglaries at firearms stores around Southern California
● Oct. 9: Chaparral Coin and Gun in Murrieta, where 43 firearms were stolen;
● March 25: Poway Weapons and Gear in Poway, where 78 firearms were stolen;
● June 12: Ammo Bros in Ontario (attempted)
● June 13: Fallbrook Guns and Ammo (attempted)
● June 17: Firearms Unknown in Oceanside, where 33 firearms were stolen
● June 18: Ammo Bros in Riverside, where 25 firearms were stolen
● July 1: Camarillo Gun Store in Camarillo, where 63 firearms were stolen
● July 9: Smokin Barrel Gun Store in Simi Valley (attempted)
● July 13: Fowler's Gun Room in Orange, where 70 firearms were stolen.
The defendants appeared in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana on Tuesday. Bail was set at $20,000 for five of the men, while the judge ordered the sixth permanently detained, court records show.
All were remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service and a preliminary hearing was set for July 30. Arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 5.
If convicted, the defendants would each face a statutory maximum sentence of 10 years' imprisonment, according to prosecutors.

Even the bail was ridiculous assuming they are actually being charged for all those break ins...

Sometime way back in the past I thought if you owned property or were a citizen in good standing then a bail bondsman only wanted about 10% up front and then they posted the rest or maybe that 10% was all you really needed to post anyway... but that is way out of my actual knowledge base, thank goodness. Maybe one of our ex-LEO's could clear that up for me.

One of my closest stores with a good inventory of firearms is Scheel's. It's kind of hampered my browsing there now as all of their handguns in glass cases are shielded with a heavy steel grid and it makes it difficult to be able to browse and see the guns well behind all that hardware. :mad:

Some years back we had a rash of break-ins in our neighborhood. A group off hoodies gained possession of one of the homes in the neighborhood. Out on the streets selling drugs, flashing guns, acting like fools. The neighborhood arranged a meeting with the local police and county commissioner. The police babbled for about an hour about how they were more afraid of us the we of them and how they couldn't do anything but we should all keep reporting activities and maybe a case could be built. Finally we got to speak. Everybody there had the same message. We will continue to report activities but bring body bags when you respond. We are armed and tired of this. Then a miracle happened! 24 hours and the hoodie squat was condemned! Maybe they were low on stock of body bags? Ever since our neighborhood has been a no go zone for local hoodies per word on the street. Once again a very nice neighborhood to be part of.

Some years ago, there was a big old log cabin, once a restaurant among other things, west of salt lake city. It had been a pawnshop for some time (and still is, last i went by), and one night a coupla idiots stole a semitruck and drove it into the front entrance. It got stuck, there, and they got away with nothing, leaving the truck imbedded in the vestibule. An inspector looked at all the cracks in the building and declared it condemned, ordered it torn down for safety. Another inspector who was familiar with log cabins, laughed and said thats what oId log buildings look like, and they fitted some nice new glass doors.

My LGS was burglarized last year. A guy managed to squeeze through the exhaust vent for the indoor range. He only got away with a couple cheap rifles and was caught rsther quickly but the .gov came in a reamed the owner. It was weeks before they were open again.
