Yes, I think it could be done. I pulled a factory swivel stud out of one of my mini stocks and if I am remembering correctly it had about an inch of threads. However, if I were adding a second sling stud to a mini I would use this

It will fit a synthetic stock by just drilling a hole, for a wood stock you may have mill out a small area to recess the plate for barrel clearance. This would be a much stronger application than a simple drilled hole with a threaded stud. Especially where you want to use it for a bipod.
