I found a single six today with only the 22 mag. cylinder, 4 5/8 inch (I think). has the original box and is about 90% bought new in 1976. I am looking for my son a 22/22mag but thought this gun was interesting. The price was 279.00 is this reasonable or should I just buy a new single six with both cylinders? Thanks for any help.

That's high for around here. IMO if it's to be a git, make it more special, make it all his and buy new. :)

If you see any for that or a lower price there PLEASE let me know via PM. Everywhere I have seen they are considerably more.

Welcome to the Forum!
That Single-Six is a New Model,, and in 90% condition, and with only the 22 mag cylinder, I'd say is a bit high. A 22 LR cylinder can cost you $40-$50, and you'd have as much in a 90% gun as you can find a nicer example,, with the correct cylinders. I'd pass.

Blue or Stainless? If stainless it is well worth the price even at 90%. If it is Liberty rollmarked and stainless then it is rare.

thanks, I still have a 95% condition three three screw model from 1971, just wasn't sure what the "New Model" designation for the 1976 gun was about.

Another way to look at it is that with the 4-5/8" barrel it's not too common, and since it's a New Model finding a .22LR cylinder for it shouldn't be a big deal.

Just another opinion . . .
