Single-six convertable problem.

I was shooting my SS with the .22 Mag cylinder in, and after a few shots the cylinder rod fell out. I see where there is a button to release this rod, but it doesn't seem to be working properly. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

could be a burr, could be put together 'wrong' ( backwards) or maybe worn and the slot is not holding in place, OR the spring could be 'weak' (though we have never had to put in an y aftermarket ones........maybe you just didn't have it "locked"...would have to really "look /see" to know for certain.......
