I want a # 3 in 375 Winchester. I have the barrel and a rifle I am willing to switch it to. The rifle is a # 1. I have changed barrels on Blackhawks, Smiths, High Walls, Low Walls, Stevens, and a few others. My question is about the hammer & ejection struts. Do you simply unscrew the barrel with a barrel and action vise or is it more complicated. I figure the action MUST be open to allow the extractor to clear the rear of the barrel.
