I have an original 3 screw convertible #436XXX. Its been shot some but not a lot. It's never had the transfer bar added. The .22mag cylinder is in the cloth pull string sack. My question is does it have any collectors value ?

Like all guns, condition is a key factor. Many shooters desire the old 3 screw models, me included. In my case, I would easily pay what new price would be today on a current production Single-six revolver.

I would guess test it's value HERE in our Classifieds section: I'm no collector, but as mentioned above, if it's clean, it's should EASILY get you the same price as a brand-new (lawyer-safe) Single Six with both cylinders........ Yes, there were many made and many still around, but...........it's still an original, un-molested 3-screw. TEST IE HERE, you can always adjust the price to the market reactions here.

nice gun and a keeper, the true "collectors value" would be in the total package to actually set it apart from just a common, run of the mill, NICE condition old model, find a box, get all the paper work etc....and enjoy the thrill of the hunt.... (y) ;)

can be like this one......

I'm going to sell it. I do need to determine a price. I can text or e mail pictures if anyone would like.

Post pictures of it here.

I have one from 1965 with the box (with the serial number written on it), wax paper, book (I had to get the correct one here), cylinder bag. Bought it locally for what I thought was less than it was worth. Turned around the same day and sold my existing '65 RSS that had no box, the magnum cylinder was fit by me and not original, a reproduction felt bag, and 85% condition for the same price I paid for the pristine one I have now ... and sold it in only a few hours the first day.

Gauging interest posts and questions on value are fine here as long as it's not put into the classifieds without a price.

Here's mine

This is a classic case where a true Rugerphile might just cough up a goodly price just to "save it" for his collection. I've paid a little more for a couple of Old Models that were in pretty nice shape but in danger of being "parted out" by their owners.
