A side note on that.. Mickey Dolenz from the monkees was a truck driver on there too.

Chips I believe it was..and Beaver was with Hiawatha, Nellybelle was driven by Patrick Alloicious Brady on Roys ranch.. they got most of the others above....was a while ago, Im still watching Sky King reruns.............and Ponderosa........... and Froggie the Gremlin..........on the Andy Devine show.........never forget Tonto telling the Lone Ranger, when they were surrounded by Indians, he said "what do you mean WE, kemosabe..."

Robert Blake was Little Beaver with Wild Bill Elliot as Red Ryder. Wild Bill Elliot always wore a pair of six shooters, butt forward and used the Cavalry draw.

Andy Devine always had a weight problem throughout his carreer. He often had to have his gun belts extended.

I believe James Arness' name was originally Aurness. He was a brother to Peter Graves. His hair was light colored, they dyed it dark to make him look more authoritative. His gun was a 7 1/2" barreled SAA. The producers thought his size would make a shorter barreled gun look too dimunitive.

And more trvia: Most of the movie cowboys from Tom Mix on got their signature hats from Paris Hatters in San Antonio, Texas. The store was still there last time I was there. Was within walking distance from the Alamo.

Dog I was thinking of was the one who followed John Wayne in Hondo.
Jingles was played by Andy Devine who rode a (poor) sway back horse, Joker.
Pahoo-Ka-Ta-Wah was the sidekick to Yancey Derringer played by Jock Mahoney, probably the best athletic stuntman in Westerns (and he played Tarzan too). As for Pahoo...his real name was X-Brand(s).
Once again, way to go BOB. He got Pat Brady instead of Pat Buttram (like I thought at first) who drove Nellybelle on the Roy Rogers TV show.
I am sure some of us learned some things, I sure did!
