Show some old model 45s!

Help Support Ruger Forum:

The first gun I bought for myself was a 1972 Blackhawk Convertible with a 7.5" barrel. I got a lot of use out of the ACP cylinder because I had a cheap source for police practice reloads from local departments. Sadly, I let that one go when I got married (wife doesn't like guns; still doesn't, but lets me shoot more in retirement).

I was fortunate enough to find a 1971 edition of the same model to replace it...

I only have one..........bought from Hawkeye#28 MANY years ago; not a factory convertible, but he had a 45ACP cyl. that fits and works. David Clements did the simple modifications and "tune up"; SK Grips did...well, you know :). YES, I still shoot it.

One more 45 I pulled out to throw up on the board. This is one of Carl's personal guns that found its way to me and is a verified factory Brass frame 45 Colt. The box and paperwork are not original to it and are items I partnered up with it. It did come with the Single Action Revolvers book that Carl put his name on as well as one of his business cards.

When I search my computer for BKH44 or BKH45, most of the hits I get are of ones that I have sold. I need to start taking more pics of the keepers. The above guns are still here. I guess I never took pics of my BKH44B. It is also embarrassing that I couldn't find a pic of my dad's BKH45 which was the gun that, once inherited, sent me spiraling down into the Ruger collecting abyss.
How much for the one in the bottom pic?

My OM Convertible. Inherited from my grandfather who bought it in the 70's and had all the work done. Gunsmithing done by Lin "Trapper" Alexiou of Trapper Guns when he was in Ft Collin's CO. "Nickel Alloy" (it's what he called it) coating. Is more of a goldish color than the pic shows. Had him make a 2.5" barrel for it. Claro Walnut Grips done by Fred Wenig of Wenig Custom Gunstocks of Lincoln,MO himself when he was at Fajen in Warsaw, MO.
