Hey all.

I have just purchased a Ruger American in .308W.
I am based in Sydney, Australia. And I paid $545 inc gst and it came with a 3-9x40 scope and gun bag.

To me that price is cheap because the American is sold for more than that by itself.
I have not shot it yet have to wait till the weekend.

I am wanting to see pictures of other people's Ruger American rifles with there additions and what not. Oh and also what ammunition you are using

Thank you all in advance

Sorry on us for not welcoming you to the Ruger Forum. Welcome and congrats on picking up a Ruger American down under!.
There are not many pics of these because they are near ugly; but their redeeming features, good trigger, outstanding accuracy, and durability make up for their homliness.
My experience and understanding is that they will shoot just about any ammo, especially the "cheap" stuff" under an inch pretty reliably. The Ruger cheek pad is about the only addition worth taking a pic of.

Here is a pic of mine right after I got a scope mounted up on it. Have not even had a chance to shoot it yet. ;)

Please excuse the poor cell phone pic.

As I stated in another post:Now that looks cool. Gives the American a whole new look.
What cartridge is yours? And how have you liked it so far?

also how would I go about mounting a bipod to one?

Mine is a .22-250 and it shoots fantastic. I could'nt be happier with a rifle. It shoots just as good as my heavy barrel Howa .22-250 with much less weight and lower price tag.
A bipod will mount to the front sling swivel.

Rustoleum camouflage paint in khaki, earth brown and OD green then a couple coats of satin clear. I wanted flat clear but I could not find any, then when I was all done I find some Krylon flat clear in walmart.

Looks like that coyote is wearing a collar :)

Really nice camo job. One of the unsung advantages of an ugly plastic stock is the ability to camo it up real nice, like you just did. Good work.
