On 8/5/24 I bought a Burris FF mount for the MKIV pistol from Shop Ruger. It arrived and I installed it and the FFIII red dot I own, went to the range and everything worked fine. I went to clean the pistol later and found that I could not disassemble it because the base of the Burris FF red dot, when attached to that base, extended too far back on the receiver and blocked the takedown pin at the rear. I assume it would have worked on a MKI, MKII or MKIII which has a different take down design. It also may have worked on an earlier FF that may have a shorter footprint.

I called Shop Ruger to ask for a refund and was denied because the mount was now used and could not be sold as original. Sounds like a reasonable policy except there was no way I could have known of this problem before using it. Also, I had wondered about the use of the base on a MKIV and had sent in a Contact email specifically asking about it and received an email back that it would work just fine. Oddly, I may have bought the last mount because it is now no longer listed in the Shop Ruger inventory.

I have owned all manner of Ruger firearms from rifles, shotguns, revolvers to pistols, for over 50 years of frequent gun trading and it has always been my favorite brand. I still love the firearms but am disappointed in this kind of customer service.

Ordered a holster and a bunch of other stuff from them a month ago, got an email that they couldn't send to a PO Box, called and gave them a physical address. Called yesterday to see where my damn order was and they said my card was denied. I have over 20k credit on that card and don't owe a dime on it. Asked her to re-run the card and she said the order was already cancelled! They can kiss my Lilly white ass!

Maybe your credit card company / bank has a problem with firearm related purchases …… it happens. May be a problem on your end.
Buy at least one gun a month on the card, pretty sure that isn't the problem, typically get a text when there is a questionable charge. Never got an email from customer service that there was an issue either. So I guess I will bubba, whatever that means.

Most companies won't allow a return if a product has been removed from it's packaging,, and then mounted onto whatever. Lots of products get mounted incorrectly, messed with, scratched, or whatever,, and then the consumer tries to get a refund. As such, companies can't afford to accept used returned goods.

I'm NOT saying you did anything wrong. I'm just pointing out the business aspect of why companies have a no return policy on used items.

And when you inquired about the mount,, the person you spoke with may have known it'd mount,, but NOT that it interfered with the take down.

As for why an order got cancelled. Shipping to a PO box is restricted by many companies because they have a contract with other carriers. These carriers can't deliver to a PO box. And as for the card issue,, anybody processing the order,, either the customer or the receiver of the information can get a number wrong, a code wrong or whatever. It kicks out of the system, and automatically cancels an order to protect both parties. The company & a customer who may have had their info hacked.
I know I've made mistakes on getting a number wrong enough. Heck, just the other day,, I was calling a customer,, and hit a wrong digit on my phone, calling a woman who got upset,, thinking I was a scammer. She got MAD & hung up on me before I could apologize & explain. I looked at the number I had on my work order, & realized I had thought a digit was a 5 when it was an 8. My mistake.

We are all human & we all make mistakes.

My Shop Ruger orders always come to my PO Box, everything I have ever ordered.

I am also able to use the FF with a picatinny mount, the problem with this mount is that it is designed to go into the dovetail that holds the rear sight, without a picatinny or weaver rail, and when placed in that position it blocks the takedown pin.
