Stopped at my favorite Gun Store, First Stop Gun & Coin
701 Main St, Rapid City, South Dakota, before they closed....

They had one remaining Ruger/Lipsey Blackhawk Flat Top 44 S&W Special
5-1/2Bbl in the show case. It is used, but, I would say Like New In the
Box (LNIB), 100%.

I had them take it out, so I could view it. For a used Ruger/Lipsey
it is really nice. No scratches, No wear marks, front sight not canted,
no lead in the barrel, looks like just a few rounds were shot in it.
Actually the cylinder turn line is less then my new unfired Ruger/Lipsey.

Price is 399

Hope this helps someone that would like one.

I beat ya to it AK, BUT..... when they told me $45 to ship it, I said: "Keep it for the next Gentleman"! ha ha

It's still a fair price considering the GB prices!!

I have a 4 5/8" already.... so I can wait till Ruger starts shipping the new ones this spring.... then I'll grab a couple from my dealer buddy for cost!

No problem ShortBBL. I don't think you beat me to it though. The guy I talked to couldn't find it as it was buried in the bottom of the displaycase and a woman there was saying that she had already sold the one that had been in the case that morning. I think they had 2 and possibly still have one left. Regardless, I'm looking forward to getting it...wish it was the shorter on though. Been thinking about setting the old reloading bench up (been packed away for 20 years now). I guess I have to do it now.....lol. Time to break out the old A-2....

Chris.... Just paid $457 OTD for a 5-1/2" one, serial #520-19719. What's the serial number on the last one produced? I'm considering leaving this one un-turned as I've already got a 4-5/8" shooter. Thanks in advance,.

AKGrouch... You might try 6.5 gr of Win 231 with a good 220 gr Cast bullet (Lyman's 429215 gc) for about 1000 fps or the same load with a good 240 gr Cast SWC for 830 fps, both loads chrono'd. Neither is hot in my guns but work up for yours. Both will shoot sub-2" gps at 25 yds in any .44 mag or special I've tried 'em in...2 S&W's and a cpl of Rugers.

Good shootin' Rodfac

The last one that was supposed to be produced was 520-20000, but this has all changed very recently as Ruger has decided to produce it and it's now in there new 2010 catalog, so all bets are off. I dont know if it's going to be the Exact same thing Lipspeys contracted for or not, but it's a done deal.

Thanks for the headsup on the loads. I am starting from scratch on the .44 spec loads as I am not familiar with them. What primer were you using? I plan on going slowly for sure. I'm also starting to look forward to setting up the old almost antique press to load an old cartridge.....lol

This weekend, going to a gun show in Wasilla Alaska to look for a .45LC possibly.
