Security six trigger pull weight question

Bear with me, I'm new to all this and wanted to fully describe what I did...

I decided to go ahead and check end shake, timing, and trigger pull weight on my newly purchased 72 security six.

Not having an official trigger pull weight tester, I decided to use the string and weight method.

I tied a loose loop around the trigger so that it hung down past the grips and parallell to the barrell.

I loaded a 5lb plate and the trigger budged some. I loaded a second 5lb plate and had a complete DA trigger pull before the weight had left the ground.

I removed one 5 and loaded a 2.5 and this weight held without cycling the trigger pull. I guess I'm looking at about an 8-9 pull?

My question: Will this result in failure to fire? It's a home defense gun and I've not taken it to the range yet - thought I'd get some opinions.

Thanks for any reply

If the hammer spring is the factory spring than I would not worry. If it isn't or you are not sure I would replace it with a factory spring or non-OEM equivalent or heavier one. My $.02.
