I've just joined this forum but am a long time Ruger fan...especailly of Old Model Blackhawks for cowboy action shooting.

I just picked up a great 30 year old Security Six but the sights are difficult for me to pick up/see for some reason. I'd like to replace the original with a set that is bright(er) and affords quicker target acquisition.

I'll be using this gun for concealed carry so I naturally want the best sights possible.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Day-glo green model enamel. Or a $90 custom insert. Your choice.

BTW, the color of your choosing (model enamel) works better over a base coat of bright white dabbed on.

A big +1 for the Millett Orange Bar front sight; I have them on both my Security Six and GP100. They're an excellent sight.

Best, Jon

Just FYI...I called the number listed for Millet and it turned out to be Bushnell. I was told by one of their representatives that they have discontinued those sights.

I guess if you have them, hold on to them as they aren't making any more!
