Here's a set of those "semi-targets" on my 4" S/S.

So we have at least one 157 prefix which is pre 1982 that is scalloped.

For what it's worth, that full-page ad is dated 1985 and shows a high back, scalloped frame. :)

Yeah, they're all 3 scalloped and the Speed Six looks to be high polish too.

But, it's only a picture so .... who knows.

Probably not much of a data point but I just got a 4" stainless Service Six with a 160 prefix.

158-658xx IS a scalloped frame dated 1982
