My condolences. That's the hardest thing to do. We always have 4-5 dogs in our home, (currently four), and of course they don't live forever. We've lost five in the last 15 years, and my rescue dachshund Buckshot is getting up there at over 15 years of age. I'm his "hooman" and when he goes it's going to be rough. I expect to have a long line of good dogs waiting for me …

So sorry for your loss. Prayed for you.

I cant come up with anything other than it hurts so bad because you loved them so much. And the love was returned.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
We all feel your pain. At least all of us who have loved a dog.
I lost my last one just over 7 months ago. I mourn his passing almost every day, even though I now have his great-niece, and she's wonderful.
I still mourn my best friend that I lost in 2013.
So I feel your pain. Acutely.
I prayed for you.

Sorry to hear about Scout. I've had to deal with losing my best friend too many times and it never gets easier. Have Scout say hi to Suede, my daughters Australian Shepherd we helped raise and she just had to put down.

We just learned one of our Australian Shepherd's, Wallee, has kidney disease and it is progressing fast. Getting him to eat is a challenge. The Rainbow Bridge is getting close for him at not much over 12 years old.

The greatest Wish – I want my dog to live longer.

The one other thing I would say is never stop having a dog. My mom decided she couldn't go through losing a dog again after her last dog died. It was, IMO, a bad decision for her. She just wasn't the same when she didn't have that dog to get up and take care of, and take with her. I think the love we give dogs keeps us healthy, in spite of the pain at the end. But that's just me talking, thinking out loud.

As I said, i have prayed for you. I hope God grants you some semblance of peace in what I know is one of your most trying times.

It's a sad day for me and my wife. Our wonderful beagle of 14 years Scout was diagnosed with a tumor on her spleen on Monday. There is no good prognosis. She will be put down today at 11AM. She's the best damn beagle I've ever had and at 71 years old will be my last. I refuse to let any animal suffer and don't want my best canine companions to outlive me. Please say a little prayer for her on her journey to the next level where she will be pain free and at peace. Thanks.
I rescue/adopt senior dogs and have done so for the last four. It is of great value to me and the senior dogs have a loving and stable home for their final years. Why don't you think about do that? After all, the statistics are that you have 12-13 years of living and is denying yourself the enjoyment and companionship of a furry friend worth it?

Sorry for you. It's terrible when our Friends go so quickly. The hardest years are the first and last. You are doing the right thing.
