Scoping Ruger Mark 11 Pistol

I have an govt model mark 11 pistol I want to scope. I am wieghing the options of drilling and tapping or fitting a mount like the Wiegand using the back site. Any thoughts on this-I am leaning towards the Wiegand mount using the back sigth slot.

Personal preferance, but I like to Drill & Tap when ever possible.

I use a solow mount and it is great...gets the scope very low to the barrel. More so than the Wiegand and even the factory setup.

If you drill & tap, it removes some of the value. I'd opt for a no drill mount.

Weigand mount. No drilling and tapping. This mount works great with the low recoil of a .22.

My Mark I has a Square D-nodrill/tap. Kinda slides on.
