scope mounting

hello all just joined .i just bought a super red hawk 44 mag 7.5barrel .this may be a dumb ? do i need to get different hieght rings for front and back to mount a scope

Yes , but they come with the gun from Ruger if New, if not you get them in the Ruger store.The front ring is taller than the rear ring.

also a az. hunter i got drawn for second time last year for 6a bull and got a beautiful 6x .put in for 6a every year for 30 years and only got drawn twice and got good kills twice opening morning. my family is enjoying elk steaks for reat of the year. again thanx for your help.i just ordered my rings from ruger website.

I second that!

As a longtime handgun hunter,, I enjoy seeing more folks who take that kind of challenge. My first dedicated handgun for hunting was a scoped Redhawk! And KUDOS on the elk. We love elk around here,, just never get enough of it! :D

Welcome. You should really enjoy your new revolver. You can go with a red dot or scope. I recommend the UltraDot's for a red dot. There are some good handgun scopes out there as well.

I have two SRH's in 44, a 9.5" and a 5" (custom). They both have UltraDots. I have a Contender in 44 with a Weaver 2-6 scope. Natchez Shooter's Supply carry these. exclusively.

Congrats on your elk.
