Scope mounting on RAR AW long action

I'm seriously considering purchasing the All-Weather version of the American rifle in .30-06 and have a couple questions.

First, all of the photos I have seen appear to show black bases on the rifle. I would like to outfit it with all silver (bases, mounts and scope). Do silver bases (or mounts with integral bases) exist for this rifle? I've done a cursory search quite a few places and I can turn up nothing but black. The black bases just looks out of place to me and even more so if the black stock were to be replaced with a laminate.

Secondly, if using the standard bases and Leupold Rifleman low height rings, will the barrel contour allow enough clearance for a Leupold VX-1 3-9-40? I can get medium height rings if necessary, but I prefer it as low as I can mount it.

The proper Weaver bases (#12) seem to be available only in black.

EGW (Evolution Gun Works) does offer a custom silver finish for their one piece scope rails for the Ruger American centerfires, both long and short action, at a $15 upcharge for a total of $55 plus shipping and a 3 month wait time.

It took a while but I finally found some. Talley Manufacturing makes rings with integrated bases in silver.
