What a day! I can't wait till Tuesday!!! David Clements called today and said my 5 1/2" SBH is ready and will ship overnight on Monday. Thats quick service considering I sent it in at the first week of March. The list of improvements are as follows, Bowen Rough Country V notch rear sight, Clements gold dot front, SBH Hunter grip frame, Sack Peterson Elk grips, Bowen lanyard ring, Bowen knurled cylinder pin, action job, recut forcing cone, bevel cylinder, recut chambers, recrown muzzle, check end shake and lockup. I maybe forgetting something. Needless to say it will be a long weekend waiting. Update to follow,

I drove by David's house about a week ago (he lives about 15 miles from me). He was probably working on it then.
He swapped barrels on a S&W M27 and cut down (6 1/2" to 5") a M27 based .44 Special for me several years ago. He does great work.

It does have his mark (CCG) on the flat in front of the trigger guard. One of the pictures with the trigger guard turned up shows it. I can't tell you what a great job David Clements did and working with him was a pleasure. A true Craftsman and Gentleman. I have placed a second project on his calendar when he can fit me in. I am sending a s/s Blackhawk 357 6 1/2" pre warning to be shortened to 5 1/2" and set up exactly like the 44 SBH. I love the hunter grip frame and the gold bead/v notch set up. I like the whole thing!! The fit and finish on the grip frame and the Sack Peterson grips that David completed the final fit on are the best I have ever had. I have several Colt SAA that have custom grips that don't fit that tight. The lock up is perfect, trigger is about 3 to 3 1/2 lbs, the bevel on the cylinder is just right as well. I wanted this for a long time and it is everything I wanted. One happy customer, thanks to all the answers from the members here as well as David Clements. The pics are bad and don't do justice to the final product. I have it in a Threepersons holster and have a Diamond D Guide Holster on order. Thanks.
