Safe load for a OM flattop?

These safe to shoot in a .44 mag flattop? I know a SBH would handle it but wondering about the .44 mag flattop.

I tried,,, but couldn't get the page from Midway to load up the info. It gave me a "Oops,, sorry, we missed the target" or something like that.

Basically, I always use caution when loading an older, rarer gun IF,,,,, IF,,,, I have any doubts. While I know a lot of folks shoot full power loads in their Flattops,,, I have other guns to use heavy stuff in. I like keeping my Flattops as they are.

The gun should not have any problem with that load. Not so much for the shooter. Heave loads in a flattop will get your attention in a hurry.

I have shot 300 grain "Bear" loads in a Ruger Blackahwk 44 Magnum with no harm to the revolver. However, they are not pleasant to shoot and I developed a strong tendency to push the revolver away from me when I fired it.

Thanks. It will be a load that I will carry during bear season IF I have to track one after a rifle shot. So far I am 3 for 3 with no tracking, but I want to be ready.

I reload for a bunch of different rifles, but will start reloading for handguns as soon as I acquire some brass from the factory loads.

Any load within SAAMI pressure will be "safe". Usually disclaimers about large numbers of loads right on the upper edge and accelerated wear.

As noted the first load may well have issues of controlability and pain .

The second Buffalo Bore load is itself a full power load, exceeding the performance of generic factory 240 jacketed loads.

Personally I would feel well armed with the Buffalo Bore load, or similar handloads for your intended use.
