I've wanted one of these since I first learned of them and their history.
Last week, my ship came in!
I got this in an even trade, no cash involved.

Since The Duke used a pair of those in his last movie (I was not aware of that fact ......until I did a search prompted by your post) it would appear that I will begin the search for a talisman of my own..........thank you.

Howdy, neighbor! (My dad's roots are in Navarro Co, btw.)

You alluded to The Duke. The Hollywood connection is certainly intriguing, to me. I encourage any single action enthusiasts not familiar with the Great Western Arms Co. to read up on their short existence.
Much of their appeal, for me, has to do with the fit and finish of their guns, after the first couple of years. From what I've been told (and read) some years were "better quality years."
I got lucky; 1957 was a good year!
