Guess I am a Shooter and Not a Collector because at those prices all I could afford to do with it is take it out Once a Year and admire it, perhaps show it off from time to time, well God Bless the Collectors...

I'm thinking over $7000 if people know it's there. A couple thousand more than I can drop right now but months ago... I've have tossed some honest bids in.

8) It was the centerfold for the first issue of the 1985 Ruger catalog, as I recall. I have a press kit with the glossy 8 1/2 by 11 photos.........Dunno how the gun can be built and then the issues of accuracy arise? :?

Yes, Ruger should bring this one out. Its really about the only firearm model (large bore centerfire autoloading rifle) that Ruger has yet to put in their stable.
When they were working with the XGI they found that just by changing magazines they would get a different grouping.
Also heard from another engineer at Ruger that the gun would throw one flyer for some unknown reason out of each magazine shot.
With the computer technology available now, would be nice to just upscale the resurrected Mini-14 accuracy into the NEW XGI.

I too would like to see it come to market if to only substantiate it's existance more and see if all those that cry about them NOT being available step up and get one. I'm thinking most will find a reason not to though. We'd have a flood of "it's too expensive", "it's too heavy" and "they should've ______" cop-outs.

The way I read that auction, this purchase would be tax deductible... seeing as how the money goes to the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance...

Why do things halfway? Now that Ruger has brought out their own AR-15, and there are rumors that a Ruger 1911 is in the works, why not bring out their own new-build M14? If they could undercut Springfield Armory's price, even by $50, there would be HUGE demand for a Ruger M14.

Does that sunglass smiley mean it may have a new home in the northwoods??
No.........Interesting, but I'd rather see Ruger66 have it, providing it is a low SN for him. Personally, I would expend the funds towards a RSSE. :) After all, there are still well over one hundred RSSE's, although recorded, that have not been found........and it's well over fifty years
