Anyone know anything about this Ruger titanium golf club head? Looks like it has never been used and even has a three digit serial # B00227!!!!  Just picked it up and know nothing about it-sure is pretty and looks like a good paperweight. Appreciate any info and value ideas if it has any. Thanks

Yep, Ruger did produce those heads. I have one myself. They look nice in the matching blue cover with the gold eagle.

I notice that the Eagle doesn't have the R in a circle under it. Are all of them like that or is that a Rare Variation??

Suggest that these were all SR marked, and, were long gone before the R came into place. When Ruger went out of the Golf club head business, these heads in inventory were sold by Davidsons'. As I recall, in the 14 dollar range.......Shoulda bought a bunch,,,,,,,,,,,

yes, Ruger was bigtimeinto the titanium casting business, but got out some years back, they cast lots of stuff for many "others", big in the medical casting field also, but no longer...I recall when Galloway started to have those golf club heads cast in China, the downward ,slippery slope started....heck our friend Jim H even left Ruger for the "competition", ah the trials and tribulations of the corporate world...yep, a nice "paper" weight, and one of those things for those who collect "all things Ruger"

Yes, Ruger was heavy into titaium casting for golf, hip replacements, door locks and who knows what else. Interesting that they claim to have made over 3 Million golf heads (by 2001) but you rarely see them for sale. i got my first golf head directly from Ruger in Prescott, AZ in 2001, serial number A00216, and paid $115 for it. It came with the fold out brochure you see here. The other head I won at the Ruger Collectors Auction in Tulsa 2008, serial number L01612, and paid considerably less! Both came with the Ruger head glove and cheescloth bag. Neither head has the circle R register but the cover does have it. More Ruger lore :!:

Now we just have to figure out how many different heads by loft, heel design etc. :)
The variations over the years are endless I would think. I have a couple somewhere, gave one to a buddy who's a golfer and he built
his own driver and still uses it.

I imagine the guy who has a gun with that 3 digit s/n would pay a premium for that paper weight. Just saying, those who have them should list them with the s/n and wait for offers.

Of course if they were made by S&W they wouldn't even have a s/n, and nobody would care. Ruger guys tend to like their s/n. :D Ed.

According to the brochure there were lofts of 7.5, 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5. There is no mention of the Low Launch. This is from 2001 so like most things with Ruger - who knows.

I know one guy who has the matching serial number driver and guns....and it isn't me

And they are 2 digit serial numbers    RR.

Was the matching s/n driver offered to the subscription holders? Ed

Ruger originally produced titanium heads for Calloway. They also did some for Zevo. A Ruger employee later went to work for Calloway and a couple years later returned to Ruger and then started to produce these heads. Early heads had degree or loft on the heads. Later heads were just listed as low, medium and high loft. Ruger also exsperimented with ceramic heads. Here are some pictures of a rough cast titanium and a couple exsperimental heads.

The 2nd generation head ie the low mid high loft are a larger head design about 350 CC IIR, the first version wss smaller about 300 CC. Compare to today's max legal of 480 CC.

I've used both and actually were very nice heads, especially the early version which I could easily hit off the fairway 280 yds or so. Won multiple tournaments with those drivers. Now I'm strictly a Taylor made guy on the driver and Titleist everywhere else except the wedges
