I was digging through some of my "stashed" Ruger Mark pistol parts looking for an original Mark II hammer when I came across this hammer in a coin envelope marked "Mark II Gov hammer":

This was taken out of a NEW Ruger Mark II Government 6 7/8 ths blued pistol, found when doing a complete take-down cleaning.
This is not the first "sintered metal" part that I've ever found in a Ruger pistol, and I've seen quite a many of these pistols cross my bench in 50+ years. I also have a powdered metal sear, also removed from another Mark II pistol.
I did replace this hammer with an all "steel" version of the Mark II, as I did notice that the top front corner of this powdered steel hammer appears to be starting to crumble away.
