Ruger SP101....What Is This "Mark" On Here??

Can anyone please tell me what this marking is on the left side of the gun (if pointed)?? It's like a divot that appears to the upper right of the cylinder. I've been to Cabela's to look at 4 others, and none of them have it. I'm new to gun ownership as well as to this forum. GREAT site!! 8)

It is the recoil plate cross-pin. Most get polished flush so they are hard to notice, but if you look hard, it is there on every one (except for the newest production with an LCR-type firing pin retention system). It is not a problem.

As mustang99 said, it is the transverse pin that keeps the recoil plate held fast. The recoil plate keeps firing pin and rebound spring in its own little compartment.
