Hello all and thank you in advance for any help. I have an SP101 as shown in the pictures. The barrel is ported and front sight upgraded. There is a marking on the side of the frame I have never seen and wondering if anyone can help identify it?

Weigand Combat used to do these in the early 90s. Primarily SP101s. Jack Weigand called it the "Tame the Beast" conversion. I've only handled one and it was sweet. Never shot one, those ports look deadly!! He sold a ton of them, but then quit gunsmithing. They now just make scope mounts for a lot of guns.

Other options included in this package was rounding the trigger edges, action job, bead blast finish, and hammer Bob (if not factory bobbed). Those grips were added later, as Crimson Trace wasn't around back then. But they're great grips and the SP101s are tanks. High quality little package.
