Ruger Single Single six with Micro adjustable sight

Does anyone here know what the valus of these guns are? I picked this gun up a couple years ago and now I was thinking of selling and was wondering what kind of price to put on it.

I'm not sure of the age, I went to rugers website to do a search of the serial number but couldn't find it in the lists. So I sent them a request for more info.

Packing you have a nice single six :!: with aftermarket micro sights--I collect only those type Rugers be sure & look at the FRONT sight & see if micro is written on it --kind of looks like it might be off of another Ruger model I've seen this done on few other guns ---micro on rear,not micro on front--- Some folks really like these but they are what they are not factory won't letter but I love them anyway---- price = condition & if its a scarce type--- in other words the gun -not the sights will be more of a factor than the sights some say 100 dollars extra for micro sights 8) but you gotta check that FRONT SIGHT :!: SERAL # would help to LOOKS like convertable 4 & 5/8's THAT HELPS

Yep, looks like a Ruger front, Micro rear. Interesting combination.

The 4-5/8" Old Model Single-Six is desirable itself, but that front sight might be considered a problem. If it's soldered in place, that means the gun has likely been reblued, but if it's attached with a screw, the barrel has been drilled and tapped . . . or else the barrel has been swapped.

The Micro could be replaced with an original "drift-adjust" version if desired.

Or, some collector of unusual stuff might find this package very desirable as it is.

I have no idea of a value.

yes, it appears as said above, the Ruger "screw on " front sight ,but with the drift sight gun....alll depends on "how" it was mounted, if thebarrels was swapped out or whatever.....you would have to go back to a 'standard' wedge blade front sighted barrel ( they are 5 1/2 inch long and have a blade only)
nice gun, but altered,not original so the price value is very subjective.
Just another version of "how" folks made their guns end up with an adjustable ,rear sight.......

What I see is a post '63 RSS4X fitted with a Micro Rear and and a New Model Ruger Front sight. OM Super Single-Six front sights are the "undercut/Patridge" style.

Note the "shallow" slope to the Micro's front sight ramp in the above image. Compare that to the steeper ramp on the RSS4X pictured in the OP of this thread. In addition, the Ruger front sight is attached via a single, vertically oriented screw. The Micro sight was designed to "slip over" the early Single-Six "half round blade" style of sight.

The RSS4X, by itself, is a neat gun to own. Value? Well, if the Ruger front sight is indeed attached via the original design, i.e. a screw, then you have a "non-factory" drilled and tapped barrel and the collectors' appeal has dropped several "notches".

Ah, but then there's the "specialist" collector whom seeks such variations.

I'll refrain from getting in the middle of this one..... :roll:

PS One other scenario pops up.......perhaps the gun was originally a 5-1/2" or 9-1/2" gun and the barrel was shortened and a Ruger front sight was installed!!

If nothing else, this piece is certainly a conversation starter. I, for one, would like to be able to fondle it a little. There are so many possibilities on that front sight . . .

First thing I'd do is call the ladies at Ruger and get its original configuration.
