I just bought Ruger Single Seven, stainless in 327 Magnum, with a Birds Head grip. And I'm a little confused as to what I can buy for replacement grips. I see alot of Vaquero and presume those aren't what I need, and I'm not seeing anything for the Single Seven Birds Head. I'm looking for plain old checkered walnut - any help appreciated.

Good luck! You want grips for a Ruger Birdshead- I believe they are all the same size. However, like the other Ruger frames, I believe that there is quite a bit of variation in the actual individual frame dimensions, so getting grips that fit is a hit and miss propositon.

Love those Birds Head grips -
Post any pics of what you have done.

I envy you fellows who have managed to find one of those 8163 Models.

Actually, I bought mine out of pity for the salesman. I had picked up a 32.20 Cimarron at another shop but didn't feel quite done, looked at ALOT of guns in the next store. Really couldn't find anything I liked but I figured I already reload for a 32 H&R mag (Marlin 1894) so "what the hell" I couldn't bear to tell the guy "no sale". Of course after I bought it I decided it was something I just had to have ....

If you are at all wood work handy you can make the birdshead grips from the standard grips. (Per Hogue, where they have instructions about putting the standard grip on the frame, marking it and sanding it down) Seems like a lot of work to me. I have bought some nice ones on Ebay over the years and other sources mentioned above. They are not all that hard to find, and all the RUGER birdsheads are the same.
