Ruger Serial # Date Search Site Closed ?

I recently tried to find the mfg. date for a security six and my old Bookmark for that URL now kicks back to Rugers Homepage. What's up with that ?

Welcome to the Forum!
They recently re-vamped the webpage. The info is there,, but it's moved. I never use it,, as it's known to be inaccurate. I use the RENE reference guide. If you need to know,, post the serial number & model here, (or part of it; (12-123XX) and someone will look it up. Also a call to Ruger records can get you the month & year of shipment.

I had pulled down each tab but overlooked that one when it said instruction manuals. Wish they wouldn't change things on old people, we don't adapt well.
