I have been looking for a PC-40 for a year now, none on gun broker or other similar sites. I have gone to online retailers and did "Notify me" on many of them, No response. called Ruger and got the run around "still in production" Etc, but nowhere to be found. they were useless. 9mm's are all over the place but no .40's..... Anyone know why they are unavailable, or if they have been discontinued?

Welcome to the forum.

Are you looking for a PC-40 or a PC Carbine in .40 ? Two completely different guns. The PC-40 hasn't been made in many years.

The present PC Carbine in .40, currently catalogued, is in short supply, as with the current firearms shortage, is likely not high on their production agenda.

There are many popular firearms throughout the firearms industry that are completely unavailable.

PC Carbine in .40 S&W. yes, I have seen many 9mm's out there but no .40's. I have put myself on "Notify Me" on MANY online retailers, and I get nothing but BS from Ruger...
thanks for your reply.

Yeah, what WAYNO said.
One sold on Gun Broker last week for $536.00.
I'm not sure I've seen the 40 Cal version around here in person.
Many new 9mm's on the shelves though.

9mm are scarce here. Two used 40 cals currently on Gunbroker. Do the 40's accept Glock mags??

I have an original 1997 PC4 as my home defense rifle. It is a solid performer. It doesn't like long distances, but I can get it on target at 100yards. It's sweet spot is under 50 yards, just devastating on pumpkins, cans, bowling pins, zombies.....etc.
I'm glad they started making them again. For once Ruger listened to its' customers! Pistol caliber carbines are back in style!
Yeah!
