I doubt that this was done by a "hack". I suspect that this revolver was modified specifically for the NMLRA revolver matches. These are 10 shot matches. The stock sights on the ROA are poor (at best) for serious target work. These are much improved. The cylinder was no doubt shortened to eliminate the need for some type of filler over an appropriate target load (~25 grains of FFFg). The hammer was probably lightened to marginally improve the slow lock time. And the oddest of the six cylinders was apparently plugged to keep it out of service. It may not be pretty to some but I'll bet it will shoot circles around a stock ROA in skilled hands. Some info on it may be found in the NMLRA pistol circles. Just a thought. Enjoy!
