Any thoughts on what a Ruger No. 1 in 45-70 Govt is worth? It is the Lyman scope model commemorating 100 years of Lyman 1878-1978. Fine wood and engraving. The long Lyman scope has some wear marks. It has a serial no. of L-018. On the scope is says 1878 Lyman Centennial 1978 Century Model 1895. I do not have any box etc., just the rifle and scope. Thanks

At first,, I was thinking about the Canadian set of guns from the mid 70's,, until I read the post. Duh!

I recall seeing stuff on that gun,, but haven't seen any recently.
Collectors place a premium on such things,, IF,, IF it was a factory issue, AND in excellent, complete condition. (Box, papers etc,)
I'd say someone who collects the Ruger No 1's might attach a bit of a premium over the standard No 1's if they were looking to add one to their collection until they found a better one.

There were 2 models. One with gold engraving the other just blued. Either will take a big hit without all the goodies and case they came in.
