NEED A PRICE CHECK PLEASE, RUGER NO 1 IN 270 AND 300 WEATHERBY MAG, EXCELLENT CONDITION GUNS, WHAT IS THE GOING PRICE ON THESE NOW? WHAT YEARS WERE THEY MADE? THANKS
the 270 Weatherby Mag and the 300 Weatherby Mag were cataloged items from 1988 through 2006 in the stanbdard "B" rifle.
I see enough of both that either demand just isn't very high OR they aren't uncommon little alone rare.
I just sold a 270 made in 1988 NIB for $750 and was glad I got it.
I was looking a few minutes ago and Cabelas had three #1B is 270 Weatherby all priced right about there.
The 300s have seemed to bring slightly less over time.
#1 prices are pretty depressed right now and frankly I wouldn't pay more than $700 right now for either and I'd want good wood to boot.
These two calibers are not rare/uncommon and therefore don't demand a premium for caliber.
I have kept one of the 3 in 270 Weatherbys I bought and I like it and it shoots flat but the reality is that for hunting it doesn't do much of anything a bunch of other things don't do.
I just figured with prices being fairly low right now I'd rather sell the two extra and start looking for a West German Saur Weatherby MKV in 270 to go with my 224 WBY and my 240 WBY rather than keep more #1s in non rare calibers or configurations.
All that said, if you get into them right they are both superb hunting rifles. Just NOT all that collectable.
I had a gun shop but gave it up years back.
I'm still sick over ruger no. 1 i sold.
It was about 10 years ago and a man and woman came in the gun show I was at and sold me a ruger no.1 404 jeffery with a box of shells for $350.00. The next day another dealer offer me $500.00, I said ok $150.00 profit in less than a day that was great.
I will I had that gun now.
