Ruger MkIII Hunter - won’t dry fire, can’t disassemble cause hammer is cocked.

Hi everyone. Followup for closure. Ruger received the firearm, They didn't describe how they got it apart, but they replaced: Rebound spring, Firing pin stop pin, and oddly the trigger over-travel screw. Just got it back today. Best of all, was a courtesy repair. No cost. Despite the pistol being a 2008 version.

Wish i had more detail for you all, but i wasn't able to speak with the repair technician.

Thank you for all your suggestions and recommendations.

Appreciate you all.

That is really odd. Mk3 and mk4 pistols don't have an overtravel screw. Did someone install a mk2 trigger?

Overtravel screw is not on the trigger..
Ah.. i've not dug into the trigger assembly. Was presuming based on images of aftermarket triggers where there was an overtravel screw on the trigger itself. (Like the volquartsen accurizing trigger has an adustable 'stop' on the trigger itself).
