Ruger MK II USA shooting special edition

Help Support Ruger Forum:

Serial numbers for that model go to about USII-04750, but not all of them ended up being Olympic models. Although Ruger numbered 4,750 receivers with the USII prefix, Ruger's distributors did not order near that many and the leftover barreled receivers were used up with the normal K10/22-RPF model (stainless model with standard Zytel stock), which I've noted from USII-01642 through USII-03826.
The Olympic models were produced from 2007 to 2008 for Ruger's TALO group of distributors.

Are you referring to the KMK512GCUS Mark II pistols or the 10/22 Olympic Guns. The KMK512GCUS serial number prefix is USA-XXXXX.

Oh yeah...sorry 'bout that. Didn't catch "Mark II" in that.

Here's from the "Reference of Ruger Firearms"...

KMK512GCUS (Ruger model 0168) Special Distributor USA Shooting Team model. Known s/n range USA00001 to USA02599. Features gold plated bolt ears with USA Shooting Team logo and the words "VICTORY IN ATHENS" embossed on the rear of the bolt, gold anodized trigger, checkered Target grips made of black laminate and with thumbrest on the left panel, a "TRUGLO" type green fiber optic front sight and shipped with Weaver style scope base mount (scope rings not included). The pistol was shipped in a special teal blue plastic case with lens label. Distributed by the TALO group in 2004 to raise funds for the US Olympic Shooting Team. At least 2,599 produced in 2004 for TALO group of Ruger distributors (Camfour (MA), L.M. Burney (TX), Davidson's (AZ), Hill Country (TX), Bill Hick's (MN), V.F. Grace (AK) and Lipsey's (LA). Note that s/n USA00008 had more embellishment done to it which included selectively gold plating the scalloped areas of the barrel and rear of receiver. On the right side of the barrel within the selective gold layering (embossed in black with laser?) is the phrase "Victory IN BEIJING 2008" and on the left side of the barrel is the USA Shooting Team logo. This pistol also has two sets of grips, the regular issue pair as well as an Altamont type wood thumbrest set with a two-panels of checkering/carving on each panel (checkering in the top panel and carving in the lower panel of each grip). The carving is of an oak leaf motif. This pistol is described as having been "displayed at numerous shows including the SHOT Show and the NRA Show and most recently at the U.S. Shooting Center in Colorado Springs". It was offered through the HHP "Treasures and Traditions" auctions on GunBroker.com with #82 of 250 2004 Olympics Beijing medal where it realized $1,025 on 11/29/2009.
