I just put everything back together. I got some threadlocker on the optics cover plate when reassembling & messed the paint up when I wiped it off. Aggravating. Now I'll leave it alone for a few days & come back to it. I have other pistols I can carry.

I had never really inspected the primer strikes from this pistol. I've never had an issue with FTF so it had never occurred to me. After I got everything back together I wanted to do a function test.
I had a similar issue with my Max9. My case was a broken striker, but never had light strikes. I was dry firing pointin up, and the striker piece fell off on my face through the magazine well during slide pull. If the pencil eraser has a hole, you won't be able to make it bounce hard. Try to use a new pencil and if it barely moves then you have a light strike issue. Ruger replaced my striker for free and other parts I can't remember.

FYI Ruger will send you parts if you ask. Much better than sending the gun in. I have a SR22, that needed something, I cannot remember and was going to send it in as I could not find the part for sale. It was one of the first issued. They told me the gun was too old to be sent in, for free. I would have to pay shipping to them and they would repair or replace the part and send it back at no charge. OR they would send the Part. I said I would much rather have the part. I asked if I did send it in could they replace a number of parts and they said yes, but I made a list of parts I wanted and they sent me all of them. Great service.

If you had a broken striker, they would have sent you and new one and a new spring. Simple, easy fast repair.

With my Max 9 they said I had to send the gun because the striker was a part that they wouldn't ship out. I checked the manual and the part had an asterisk next to it. The legend said that parts marked with asterisk were to be replaced by Ruger only. I asked them to ship it to me but they refused to.

That totally sucks. A number of manufactures do this. Especially for something like a striker. I want to look up and see if there are some after market strikers just for the heck of it. Sorry you have to be inconvenienced over this dumb thing by Ruger. Good news is you should get it back quickly.

Not a lot of aftermarket for a gun not worthy of mention. M Carbo has a reduced power spring kit available. A custom spring could be spec'd but I think that's as good as it would get.

I don't think the striker is broken. I believe it just doesn't hit with as much authority as others. It will be function tested before I carry it again. I'm back to carrying a larger gun until I get done tinkering with it.

Ruger really disgraced themselves with the Meee Tooo striker thing. Ruger should have hammers. They didn't stick to what they do well and have largely fallen from significance.

It was a broken striker, but this happened last year. They already replaced the striker. I have not had any issues since they fixed it. I have shot my gun and done dry shooting sometimes... not an issue.
