I want to replace my Mark II hammer spring with a reduced tension spring. It looks like the pin that holds the housing latch (and the hammer spring in place) has been deformed (with a center punch) at the factory so it does not move. Can I just drill out this pin to remove it and replace it with another new pin when reassembling? The new pin would then be deformed so it would stay in place.

I also want to replace the return spring and it also looks like the rod that holds the spring is deformed on the end to hold it in place. Can I just file off the deformed metal to get the spring off and then deform the end of the rod once the new spring is installed?

Thanks in advance
