I saw this for sale and have never seen one with the hook on the guard.
Does anyone know any more about this?

Wow! There isn't much about that gun that is original, 'cept maybe the receiver and barrel.
The grip frame is new manufacture from somebody (stainless???), the bolt should have tapered ears..that looks like a new made bolt to me also (stainless?) and the rear sight is not original to the gun. The grips came off a Mark II pistol.
And...the biggest thing about the description? There were no Mark I 4-3/4" tapered barrel guns. Mark I's prior to 1982 all have adjustable sights and are marked "MARK I" on the receiver. Ruger's first gun was the 4-3/4" tapered barrel pistol with fixed sights which he called the "STANDARD" (hence, RST4 Ruger STandard 4-3/4"). In late 1954 Ruger added a 6" Standard (RST6).

Yeah, an AMT lower and Ruger upper. The barrel looks like it is bent at the receiver.
I liked the "Nice Classic Ruger " post.

That photo should be saved under "FAQ" as an example of a mutt.

yes that is a AMT Lightning grip frame. I sold one to a member of this forum a few years ago. I originaly bought mine on the older, less antigun eBarf and resold it when I picked up a original Ruger MKI grip frame. I also bought some S.S. AMT magazines off of The GPC.
