Just picked up a new Ruger LCP, fired 10 rounds and had a FTE, empty was stuck in the chamber, I cleared the jam and shot another 25 rounds with no issues. Is this common for the new LCP and how much breakin is normal for this pistol?

No, it's not Common. But not real uncommon either for a new gun
Could be some leftover crud in the barrel, or could be a broke extractor.
Guns settle in like new houses.
Clean it, shoot it 200 rounds, either it settles in or ship it back to Ruger.

I got mine last December it had not been through recall, so I knew it was going to back to the factory one way or another. I made sure that I had 300+ through it before it was scheduled to go.

As I recall, I also had 1 FTFE (fully eject) in maybe the first 20 or so rounds. After firing the box off I sat there and racked the slide most of the evening. After that I got some snap caps and racked the slide and pulled the trigger (to get used to the Looooong HARD pull). Probably had 500 rack & dry fires & 300 rounds down range before she left.

Since that one FTFE, I have had ZERO malfunctions. So like GH said put some more rounds downrange, and if you continue to have malfunctions contact Ruger and see if they can make it right.

Good luck
