Ruger Hawkeye with Cast

Thinking of getting one in 30/06 since my eyes and the peep sight on my 1903A3 don't play well anymore. Has anyone been using cast bullets in the Hawkeye?

Just curious. Why would you get a 30/06 and want to shoot cast bullets???

I've been shooting reduced loads with powder coated cast bullets with surprisingly good accuracy and no leading in my MKII '06.

I shoot cast all the time, all the way up to 505 Gibbs, good plinking

Well went and ordered a Hawkeye, should be here in a week or less. Have used cast in my 03A3's, my pre war M70 and both a US Krag and a Ruger #3 in 30/40 for years. Still have the 03A3 and Ruger #3. Even shoot cast in my 243 Win M70 FWT. Have the molds and plenty of brass. At 1500-1600 fps both the #3 and 03A3 are very pleasant to shoot with the NOE version of the Lyman 311291 and even more fun fun subsonic with the 120 gr NOE 311-115. The cost of my casting set up was amortized decades ago so not only fun to shoot bur inexpensive as well using my stash of powder and primers I stockpiled before the current panic.

There's no reason to think that the lead bullets won't preform like your other rifles you mention.
