This test gun (Charter Arms .44 Spcl. Bull Dog) featured a 2.5 inch barrel- seemingly 'balanced' compared to the GP101 Snub. Three....and up to four inch barrel offerings could also be ideal.
Recoil was,well......low pressure Special- mild. "Pleasant".Accuracy decent, and reflective of inherent .44 tendency.
Many admire the concept. Niche."Wow"."I want one". "This is what I have been looking for...."
"Lightweight" features to the point that extensive shooting likely to cause 'wear'- what a bummer.I can't quite "grasp" this prototype knowing it is not a Ruger, and all that entails.
The 'strengths' of Charter Arms 44 Special Bull Dog market placement suggestive of opportunity for Ruger.
The CA Bulldog "Prototype" is not "Cheap":after spending near $400 on the CA Bulldog, a few more $ ( and a few more ounces of metal where needed...!)for a genuine Ruger version would be welcome.....and just when I figured I was done buying.
I bet I am not alone!
