To open or not to open????

I do not plan to shoot it but cannot bring myself to cut the tape and open it.

I'd think of it a bit differently. That's the shipping container and the individual cases of ammo will be labeled so you will have provenance. Do you not open a shipping sleeve/container with a Ruger handgun in its box (and of course keep the sleeve/container)?

Ron, I like the way you think and rationalize. The only flaw/issue is all firearms have to be opened in order to log them into the logbook. Ammo does not have to be logged in so no requirement to open.

Maybe open it on the opposite end away from any markings. That way,, you can re-seal it much easier AND keep any labels intact.

BUT,, unless you need the ammo for a display,, why open it unless you have a specific reason?

I'd like to know more about it.

When was it made? Why package a case of mixed ammo?

That ammo was made under license by Ruger a few years ago. It was a very different design of SD ammo. Promoted at SHOT,, by both the company & Ruger. We've had a few other threads about it around here.
Basically, it never made a big effect upon the public, and sales weren't what was hoped for. So it's pretty much gone now. But to sell it, a dealer could buy a case of mixed ammo to have different calibers to sell.

Here's a picture of the promo display plastic copy of a 9mm round. Oh, and that's a real 9mm round next to it.

I did an article on the arx ammunition for the RCA journal. Ty and I were at shot when it was introduced. From what I was told only about 23 display bullets were made. After Ruger parted ways with ploy case a couple remaining about 2 poly case removed the Ruger decals. I only know of about 6 in private collections I personally own 3. I couldn't tell you how many cases of the ammo I had to buy to get the display ones. I still have tons of it in unopened boxes. The ammunition we sold I did keep the shipping boxes.

The dealer bullets are awesome I wish I had one myself. I only managed to snag one box of the ammo but wish I had at least one of every caliber. Does anyone know where someone might still find some for sale. Thanks and congrats on the great collection
