Ruger Brass Frane

I have two Ruger Brass frames, on is Old Army S/N 140-06739 and super Blackhawk S/N 80-04516 at the grip frame have casting # MR-3DB.
Are these aftermarket or original Ruger grip frames?> Please help.

Yes those are Factory Grip Frames.

Those are factory built grip frames as noted above.
I'd spend the $10 each to get a factory letter to see if they SHIPPED with the brass grip frames. It does make a difference.

That Super # falls into the 1972 group where there were about 1500 shipped with Brass Grip Frames..could be one of them.

The Old Army is listed in John Dougan's "Vintage Years" book. The Super will have to wait for the letter.

The Super seems unlikely to letter, the factory ones are higher SN's than that. Dougan's Ruger Pistols & Revolvers book has a more extensive list and it isn't in that list either. Earliest listed prefixed number is 80-28741. All the prefixed brass frame Supers listed were 1972 guns. Your gun is likely from 1969.
