Hi all!
I see Ruger putting out some newly made Bisley vaqueros in 357 and 45 colt, with a 3 digit prefix serial number. I'm under the impression that the frame size is the newer smaller size Ruger went to a few years back, on both. Is that correct? Is it like this also for newly made blackhawk bisleys in those same calibers?
(I have no interest in the smaller framed ones and want to be able to steer clear of them on auctions and other selling venues.)
Thank you!

TMK, all of the 45 Colt Blackhawk Bisley revolvers are made on the large frame. I have heard that there are new medium frame distributor exclusive flattop Bisleys in 44 Special, but not 45 Colt. As the new Vaqueros are midsize framed guns I'd expect that same frame even if they have the Bisley handle.

The new Bisley Vaqueros are effectively, Bisley New Vaqueros built on the mid-frame.

The only mid-frame Bisley Blackhawks are flat-top .44Spl's built just for Lipsey's and The Shootists.

The standard "eared" Bisley Blackhawks are still on the large frame.

The Rule that I have yet to see ANY variance in,

Large Frame Guns have 2 Digit Pre-fix Serial Number. (Good to go with Ruger Only Loads)

Medium Frame Guns have 3 Digit Pre-fix Serial Number.
